This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains the information collection and use of Copper City Law.

 

Unless otherwise stated, this Policy describes and governs the information collection, use, and sharing practices of Copper City Law with respect to clients and inquiries.

 

Before you use or submit any information through or in connection with the Services, please carefully review this Privacy Policy. By using any part of the Services, you understand that your information will be collected, used, and disclosed as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

 

If you do not agree to this privacy policy, please do not use our Services.

How Information is Collected

 

We collect information in multiple ways, including when you provide information directly to us (either verbally, in writing, by text messaging, by email, or by mail); and when we passively collect information from you through communication; and from third parties.

 

Information You Provide Directly to Us

 

We will collect any information you provide to us. We may collect information from you in a variety of ways, such as when you: (a) contact us or provide feedback, (b) complete contract forms or intake forms with Copper City Law, (c) provide requested documentation to Copper City Law, and (d) communication directly with Copper City Law. This information may include but is not limited to your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, payment information and pertinent family, property, or other asset information.

Information from Third Parties

To the extent permitted by law, we may also collect information from third parties, including public sources, social media platforms, and marketing and market research firms. Depending on the source, this information collected from third parties could include name, contact information, demographic information, information about an individual’s employer, real property information, pertinent asset information, information to verify identity or trustworthiness, and information for other fraud or safety protection purposes.

 

How We Use Your Information

We may use the information we collect from and about you to:
 

  • Provide and improve the Legal Services for which Copper City Law was retained for and/or requested by the client.

  • Send you information about appointment dates/confirmations, requested documents, basic service follow up questions/answers.

  • Process and respond to your inquiries or to request your feedback.

 

Disclosure of Client Information

 

Any information collected by Copper City Law for or in regards to clients or inquires is subject to Attorney-Client Privilege and shall not be disclosed beyond what is reasonably necessary for effective and proper legal representation, or unless authorized by said client, or Copper City Law is legally required to do so. No client or inquiry information shall be sold, rented or leased to third parties.

 

Text Messaging

 

Copper City Law may communicate with clients in-person, or by telephone, email, mail, or text messaging. Clients can expect to receive communications from Copper City Law regarding and/or related to their legal matter and/or reminders for appointments and court dates. Copper City Law and its phone service carriers are not liable for any undelivered SMS messages, emails, mailed correspondence, and/or other communications.

COPPER CITY LAW WILL NEVER SEND MARKETING MATERIAL VIA SMS TEXT MESSAGING. Copper City Law does not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Copper City Law will not sell, rent, or share the collected mobile numbers.

 

Clients are opted-in to receive service-related text messages from Copper City Law upon signing a service Retainer & Fee Agreement, or by a Client sending a text message with the word “JOIN” or “SUBSCRIBE” to 406-920-9998, authorizing SMS messages, phone, email, and U.S. mail communications with Copper City Law.

 

For SMS text messaging from Copper City Law, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to a Client from Copper City Law and to Copper City Law from a Client. If a Client has any questions about his/her text plan or data plan, it is best for the Client to contact his/her wireless provider directly. Message frequency may vary depending on what events are occurring in a Client’s case/matter at any given time. A Client may send a reply of “HELP” to receive any help or assistance regarding text messaging with Copper City Law. When a client sends “HELP” the Client will receive a text including Copper City Law’s phone number (406-920-9998), email (info@coppercitylaw.com), and website (www.coppercitylaw.com) to further help.

 

If at any point a Client no longer wish to communicate, or receive appointment or court reminders, or receive other correspondence from Copper City Law via SMS text messaging, the Client may notify Copper City Law and/or text the Copper City Law business phone number “STOP”, “END”, “CANCEL” or “QUIT”  to info@coppercitylaw.com or 406-920-9998 to opt-out of receiving any communications from Copper City Law via text message (these opt-out phrases shall only apply opting-out of texting communications and shall not apply to terminating services or representation). Upon opting out of text messaging, Copper City Law will send the Client a final SMS message to confirm that the Client has been unsubscribed and the Client will be removed from Copper City Law’s text list within 24 hours. After this, the Client will no longer receive SMS messages from Copper City Law. If a Client wishes to reinitiate text message communications again, the Client shall notify Copper City Law in writing and Copper City Law will resume sending SMS messages to the Client again.

 

I understand that all information I provide to Copper City Law is confidential, subject to attorney-client privilege, and shall not be disclosed outside the parameters of what is necessary for reasonable effective representation and Copper City Law’s privacy policy. Information Security

 

We have implemented technical, physical, and organizational security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and/or alteration of your information. These safeguards vary based on the sensitivity of the information that we collect and store. However, we cannot and do not guarantee that these measures will prevent every unauthorized attempt to access, use, or disclose your information since despite our efforts, no Internet and/or other electronic transmissions can be completely secure.

 

Information/Data/File Retention

 

As required for Attorneys in the State of Montana, Copper City Law will retain the information we collect for as long as necessary to fulfill the services for which Copper City Law was retained, maintain a client contact file, and file information for as long as we are legally required and/or permitted by Montana Law for attorneys and law offices. Information may persist in copies made for backup and business continuity purposes.


If you are a California resident, you have the right to request that Copper City Law delete personal information/data that Copper City Law has collected from you within 45 days from the your request to delete, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

 

Changes to this Privacy Policy

 

We will continue to evaluate this Privacy Policy as we update and expand our Services, and we may make changes to the Privacy Policy accordingly. We will post any changes here and revise the date last updated above. We encourage you to check this page periodically for updates to stay informed on how we collect, use and share your information. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will provide you with notice as required by law.
